Alexander Stehlig

Alexander (Alex) Stehlig

DTM race engineer

All or nothing!

Alexander Stehlig is one of the most successful and most proficient race and automotive engineers in German motorsport today.

2007 was a very exciting year for Stehlig and his driver Mattias Ekström. They had to fight until the very last race in order to win once more the DTM championship for Audi. Since 2001 he has been responsible for the vehicle raced by Ekström, also the winner of the DTM championship in 2004 and runner-up in 2005. As part of the Abt Sportsline DTM Team he was in charge of drivers such as Kris Nissen and Christian Abt. He has been actively involved in motorsport as an automotive and mechanical engineer since graduating from university.

Alex Stehlig is an outstanding speaker with detailed knowledge of automotive engineering and a rich fund of experience from the world of motorsport. He is able to give a first-hand account of what it means to have to integrate the latest technical developments on the racing circuit with absolute precision and under extreme time-pressure – new developments that have to prove their worth immediately, and that can make the difference between winning or losing. His presentations are enlivened by anecdotes about working with racing legends such as Alain Prost, Emerson Fittipaldi, Jonny Cecotto, as well as the other people that make up a racing team. His listeners are given some interesting insights into motorsport and what goes on behind the scenes.

In his presentations with Thomas Biermaier, the team manager of the Abt Sportsline DTM Team, he connects technology with motorsport marketing, and highlights the ways in which motorsport and business are linked.
